Question Second gas tank in 3rd Gen. 4Runner

Has anyone installed a second gas tank on a 3rd Gen. 4Runner? My thought is to have one installed where the spare tire currently moutns when I get a rear mounted tire rack. It seems like the perfect place to mount a tanke and would definitely inprove the range on my truck.

WATRD has one on his Tacoma and that's pretty similar in design to the 3rd gens.

Maybe he can help you out?

EDIT:
Only reason why I bring it up is because I find the idea of a second tank really cool and would like to know how he did it

Wow... sounds like more hassle than it's worth.

There's always this option:

It's pretty well covered in the thread that Scott posted a link to, but if I can answer any other questions, just shout away

I wouldn't mind moving my current gas tank to where the spare tire is, and either completely remove the stock tank or shrinking it down so I can get some more articulation out of the rear end.

If I ever do it I'd have a custom tank made that held~6 gallons of gas which is over 100 miles extra range and ~9 gallons fresh water which would be used for drinking and hot shower system...maybe someday...
