Seafoam on a 3.0
Hey, I did a search on here for using seafoam on a 3.0.... I never found exactly what I was looking for. To people who have used seafoam on the 3.0, where did you introduce the seafoam to the intake? Any help is very appreciated, also pics would be cool to
P.S. this is on a 1992 pickup 4WD 3.0w/5spd, Thank you!

brake booster is the best place as it is such a large vacuum port it will suck it in and spread it out more so than inducing it into the PCV valve. Just make sure you plug the hose to the booster after taking it off and give her a little revs when pooring and enjoy the smoke show

Hey, let us know how it turns out. I've been thinking about doing this on my 3.0 too, but kinda scared to. Don't want to hydrolock the engine like what happened to a member here.

Pour 1/3 of the can out into a seperate container & you can't hydrolock it.
Stall the engine. If it doesn't stall shut it off ASAP. Let it sit 5 min (not soak), & crank it. When the smoke starts dieing down, drive it around until it stops smoking. Make some quick use of the upper rpm range to help burn crap out.
When it stops smoking, repeate.
Do it for a cans worth (3 times). Do another can later on.
2 cans worth (One can march, one april. I finished each can at one sitting - 1/3 can intervals) will go from normal:
to awwwww pwetty:
Keep in mind that seafoam is going to do the heads & general valve area. It's not going to clean the intake ports. There is no substitute for pulling the upper intakes off & cleaning them & everything conneted to them by hand.

Anyways, on the passenger side of the 3.0, there is a mess of vacuum hoses. Look for the one that has 2 hoses coming out of one port. Right below it is where the line from the PCV valve goes into the intake manifold. Disconnect this hose, get yourself a piece of rubber hose, hook it to the port, and suck up the seafoam through this hose. Here's a pic, I have a hose hooked to the port that goes right into the seafoam bottle
