SC'r Owners - What do you think of it?

I had my SC'r and 160* Thermo installed on Thursday with the only other mod being the removal of the airbox elbow... and to be honest, I'm not really all that impressed with the basic performance of it. I've put about 400 miles on it with the SC'r, and it has about 700 miles total.

First, here are some particulars...
On a good note, I do not seem to have any ping whatsoever, although the noise reduction efforts on the '03 is far superior to my older Taco's (a '00 & '97).
Is the pinging very noticable, or am I just not hearing it?

My issues are more in tune with its acceleration oddities and its reaction to gear changes.
During a long WOT pull in 3rd gear from say, 2000RPM on up to 5000RPM, it will start off strong if I quickly ease into it, then it sort of goes "flat" from 3k to 4k then it surges real hard from about 4200 to 4600, too little, too late - time to shift. When I lift off it is hard to get it out of 3rd and into 4th due to the suspension and motor mounts unloading from the additional torque... it is after all a truck and this is to be expected. Regardless, its not a quick shifter.

During the shift, it loses alot of boost and it is often slow about getting back up to full boost, so the first second or so of 4th gear is somewhat nullifying of of the performance gains over stock.

On another good note, if I'm "light-loading" along at 3500rpm in third and ease into it quickly it will pull pretty hard, but not as hard as I expected.
It also pulls nicely in higher gears with small to medium amounts of throttle added in the 2000 to 3000RPM range. Flooring it doesnt seem to get better results.

I have a benchmark that I've used to compare the SC'd truck to when it was N/A.
The benchmark run is a bit uphill and starts from a dead stop. I ease through 1st and punch it in 2nd, the truck now pulls 90MPH to the same point on the road that it would pull 80MPH bone stock. (Indicated speeds)

Overall, I think it's power is much improved, but its delivery is rather rough around the edges.

Is all of this about normal, or is there something that needs some work?

For those of you with more mods, what exactly should my next 2 mods be? I've read Gadget's site several times, but I'm wondering about other peoples results as well.

My guess is that your truck is needing more fuel to complement the added compressed air from the Supercharger. In my opinion, you can't effectly fix this unless you do at least 3 mods, which could be:

1) Larger Injectors
2) Larger Fuel Pump
3) Piggy-back Computer

That's my opinion and it's basically based on what I've read and discussed with Gadget who seems to be the guru on this subject.

Your's in an '03 correct? If so, I don't know too much about them, or SC'ing them. However, I can tell you that the power gains in my '00 were amazing. I went from roughly a 10 sec. 0-60 to a 6.5 or so, MUCH better. I also have a VERY smooth power curve, with no hesitaion or bucking at all. Sounds like something is not right under your hood. I know what you mean when you say you are benchmarking it, and I can promise my truck would probably put a good 30mph against a stocker up a hill. I would take it to the dealer and have the service advisor go for a ride with you. I'm sure its not supposed to be so rough.
