sad wheelin story

earlier today, i was wheelin at my friends house. After it rained, we decided to give our cars a new paintjob in the mud pits----nothin too serious. He was in a cherokee and backed up to my 98 4runner, then we would floor it and spray eachother's cars with mud. On about the 5th try, he was floorin it and i looked back and heard a huge crash.... a rock got shot, and took my whole rear window with it. Then the inside of my truck got showered with mud, all the way up to the window. Anyone have an idea of how much a new rear window will cost... im expecting alot considering the defroster, the tinting, and the fact that it rolls up and down. Im at my brothers house right now because im too scared to go home and face my dad

It' a lot more fun to get a rig muddy the old school way. Drive it in the mud. Safe on the windows too.

Mine was hit by a rock on the road and USAA paid for it. My deductible is only $150 and the cost of the glass was $460 plus $75 for labor. It was replaced by an OEM and insist in getting an OEM vice aftermarket. Good luck.

Next time save the trouble and either hit your window with a hammer, or roll it down prehand and let the mud fly?

Yeah, consider yourself lucky...

tonight some lowlife decided to "hit my rear window with a rock" and take my sub... get a f'n job... Luckily I had an alarm and they got scared. They left everything else! A tripod made it to the street, guess they couldn't figure out what it was two pairs of shoes, clothes, christmas presents for my god mother... yeah... i'm SO happy right now, let me just tell you.

ps, i'm in a trip visiting friends in atlanta...

I would have never told anyone how that happened! My dad would have said "boy, it's a shame that rock didn't bust you upside the head, it might have knocked some sense into you".

the glass is not that expensive, we have 2 of them where i work for $175 each, and then you have the cost of labor if you cant do it yourself.
