Running board install

Hey guys,

I am trying t install my lighted running boards. Here is a pic of the end of the connectors that were already on the wires when i removed them form my old 4runner.

I remember unpluging these from my some spot behind the ignition.

Only problem is that I don't see any place to connect these on the back of the ignition on my 04. Does any one know where to plug these in so that they can light up when I unlock the car or open the doors.

Maybe some of you that removed your running boards could help me out.

So no one knows the difference between the green wire and the black one?

And where they might go?

Green is probably power and black is ground, just tap into a source like the dome like or door pin.

I would imagine he means the pic that determines when your door is open or closed and thus activates the interior lights.

are the lighted running boards on the 2000 4runner limited? If so, the truck is probably already wired for them, just look under the door threshold to see if there are connectors. I have realized that toyota wires for everything, then just adds the extra components, ex: fog lights on the 2000 sr5. On the boards from the factory, do the lights come on when locking/unlocking with the remote, when opening a door, or both?
