Ruff Idle when hot

I have a 94 truck with a 2.4L and when it gets hot it idles ruff. When it's cold it idles fine but if I drive it for 15 min down the road when I pull up to a stop sign it starts idling low and ruff. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to look for?

Get the timing & idle adjusted, change the fuel filter and dont run poor fuel in it. Im in the same boat but I ran regular fuel last fill up for wheeling.

Adjust your idle and see if that fixes it.

I'm confused.

So it sounds like a dog's barking when the engine's hot?

Unless, of course, you meant rough.

Have you been watching the temp gauge for any unusual spikes (i.e. gets hot really fast sometimes)?

I know, I know... I was trying to be sarcastic.

Of course, there's also the possibility that you knew I was trying to be sarcastic, in which case I've been zinged so well that I didn't even know it.

...and as for the truck, I might look into the temperature sensor or something to that effect. The sensor might be providing inaccurate readings to whatever controls the air/fuel mixture (i.e. running on a 'cold' mixture when it's too warm). At least, it seems plausible.

The temp has been no problem. It starts a little hard as well when it's nice and warm outside. I have to mash the gas pedal sometimes to get it going.

I am guessing a full tune up may assist in getting his rig running correctly. may need a fuel filter if you have to mash the pedal to get it going. Sounds as if it is starving for fuel IMO.

Clean out the throttle body with some carb cleaner and a toothbrush and see if that helps.
Also do the typical tuneup stuff (plugs, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter)
Check the AFM and TPS for proper adjustment as well.
