Routine Maintaince while intake off??

I'm about to tear in to a spark plug and wire change. I'm also going to clean the throttle body and MAF while I have them apart and also do the deck plate mod along with a new tru flow filter. My question is.....What else should I replace or check while I have all the intake piping off? Any suggestions?

Your title hits like you were taking the whole intake manifold off....that's a whole different ballgame.
It sounds like you've got your bases covered though in terms of general maintainence; MAF & TB clean is always a good idea.

(Am I ready for baseball season for what?! )

Haha Thanks! Unfortunately baseball is along way off where I live. It's 20 below! I'm waiting until saturday to use the heated garage at work to do my work. I'm ready for summer

Yeah, I was curious what you would clean under the manifold possibly during a supercharger install. Misleading thread title.

It hasn't been that long since baseball season.....but that's like me turning on the TV on the 3rd Sunday of February wondering why there aren't any football games on, then realizing I have to wait an agonizing 6 months until next season.

Throttle body cleaner, dielectric grease and a spark plug gapper (if you choose to gap them).

if u can get a hold of a torque wrench that would be nice, it would help you in tightening down your spark plugs. make sure you got the tools to take the spark plug out and a long enough adapter to get it down the tube. if i remember correctly, the lenght of the tube the spark plugs were in was about the lenght from the base of ur palm to the tips of ur fingers. (around 5-6 inches?) o well the longer the better. also when u install the spark plugs u have some anti-sieze to put around the threads of the spark plugs. (so it will come off easier next time u replace your spark plugs) its only .99 cents at autozone or whatever. MAKE SURE YOU USE IT!!! you only need 1 little pouch and you should have a little left when u are done with all 6 spark plugs. dont cake it on, just make sure it covers the treads.

when doing MAF sensor and TB cleaning, make sure u got towels to catch the TB cleaning run off. i used a tall step lader, to stand on while removing the spark plugs. and a pack of marborol lights

and as far as deckplate i did some reasearch b4 i did it, i still havnt done it but ive been reading this:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/d...othing-186443/

as far as the gap settings, i dont remember but ask the people where you bought them if they were pre-gapped, they should of been, well at least mine were

I have some anti-seize from work. The copper hi temp kind. That should do the trick. Hopefully it warms up a bit. the lows for tonight is going to be 25 below. I'll have to run the furnace in the garage for a long time before my fingers will be warm. HaHa.

Thanks everybody for all the info. It will make the project go alot easier.

might not want to do it in the garage, especially when u are using the MAF sensor spray and the TB spray, the lighting might not be enough for you also, unless it is really bright in there.

where do you live? seems everywhere is getting that cold artic blast
