Roadtrip stats
For those planning a long roadtrip here's some stats that might help.
First off here's the set up. 1994 4-Runner 119K miles with 3" of lift, 33's and 4.88 gears. I had my Mt Bike on top standing up which is 10 foot 2 inches tall to the handlebar when it's up there on top of my Yak Rack with 4 Hella's across it.
Spokane, WA to Fresno, CA
All around Yosemite National Park
Fresno to Spokane via Seattle instead of across Southern WA
Average cruise speed 70-75 mph
2671 miles
16 fill ups
174.26 gallons
15.19 average MPG
$357.24 in gas
CA gas is spendy but I'd say it averaged around $2.10 for the trip. I think I jacked up a number in there somewhere though because if you divide the cost by the total gallons it comes out to like $1.47. I probably lost track when I had my 16 receipts laid out on the counter, a calculator, and the look of pain as the numbers got bigger and bigger. !! hahaha
It took me around 20 hours each of way of actual time in the truck. This counts stopping to get gas, eat lunch, restroom, ect...... I would drive till I couldn't see straight and then just pull off at a reststop and pull out my sleeping bag and sleep in the front seat for a few hours.
My truck ran like a top the whole time I was very pleased. Running at 70 mph I'm turning about 3200 RPM's with the 4.88's. If anyone is thinking I spent a lot of time on this all I did was reset the trip meter at each fill up and write on the receipt how many I had gone on that tank. My ashtray was overflowing with receipts when I got home..hahahha

Wow! I've now run 3 tanks since the 5:29s and have gotten 18-19. (That's corrected - the speedo/odo is off a little.)
Hey, did you go across on Highway 20? If not, you really missed an incredible drive! I90 is pretty dull.

Modzilla ya she was all I expected and then some. Flamed I went down through the tri-cities and then took I-84 to Portland and went all the way to Sacremento on I-5 and then took the 99 to Fresno. Coming home I stayed on the I-5 all the way to Seattle.

I drove to Alaska last year from Seattle, close to 2500 miles when all was said and done, and the gas was over 3 bucks a gallon- it didn't seem so bad when I was paying 99 cents a liter, till I thought about the conversion to gallons.....Sounds like you had a great trip.

When I left I went through Pasco at about 5 am and didn't think you were up..hahaha. We should meet up with BBB somewhere in the middle of all of us though sometime. A guy from Kilmers Auto Parts in Milton Freewater Oregon did my gears for me.

That's cool man even if we don't wheel at all it's always fun to meet other techies and check out the rigs and shoot the BS. Usually you have to wear rubber boots when 2 or more techies get together because the stuff get's deep pretty fast..haha
