Revo's on the way!
I finally got around to ordering some new Revo's yesterday. I hope to clear the 285's with just the body lift but if not, oh well, I'll just have to add more lift I guess!

The tires came in today but I can't get in to get them on until tomorrow DAMN! They look more aggressive than I thought they would though. Geez, I'm excited about them, I gotta get a life!

Let me know how they fit when you get it on.
I am planning on getting 285's after I get my 1" BL (I already have pp springs, so right now it sits 1.5" above stock)

I am also getting a set in the next week. Just waiting for the tax refund. (The gov't loves to bend over single guys)
I have 2 questions.
1. Are the Revos made in a 275/70/16? I looked on tirerack and didn't notice them listed. Am I overlooking something?
2. I went to a local Firestone dealer and I got a quote for $700.00 with tires, mount, balance, disposal. Is that a decent price? I'd only save $28 if I were to buy them off Tirerack.com, but they would probably charge me more for the mounting and all. Plus I may be able to ask for a little discount with the lifetime alignment deal if I use them local shop all the way.

I guess I shouldn't feel too bad. I did a currency conversion, and Swede said he paid $1220.00 Canadian for them which (according to the converter) equals about $1015.00 American.

My quote was for $700 with everything.
And I think $125 for lifetime alignments. That is for the life of the tire though.
I am going to pay in cash and see if I can work out a better deal.
Plus I live right outside NYC so the prices may be higher here that on the left coast.

To quote 4-RUNNIN' FREAK: "Nice. I may need to go bigger."
If I had a dime for eveytime I said that...
I'm going out to take some pic's after I get them on and I"ll post them.

I am still undecided. I have to watch my MPG cause it may come to a point where it's not even worth it to drive it. Sometimes I can't get 100 miles on a ½ tank with conservative driving. I was looking at the Revos, and the only stock size 265/70/16 are "P" rated and I want "LT". I may either get the BFG's or the 75 series Revo.

I did it. Ordered the Revos. I have a few things I want to add tho.
1. According to Tirerack and all other sites the P265/70/16's are more than the LT265/75/16's. Not the case when I ordered them. The estimate was for $200 more for the 6-ply load C LT's with road hazard, mount and balance. I went home and hit up Tirerack and saw they are $119, $149.38 per tire with the road hazard and S+H. I used road hazard in there cause it was included with the tires at a local Firestone. The original quote was over $900 for the 75 series and all work.
I went back and asked if that was the best they can do, and he said hold on a sec, and came up with a price that would equal the price of three tires. So I guess what I am trying to get at (if this all makes sense) is that the local shops are cheaper in the long run than tirerack. The salesman told me he was suprised I didn't ask for a better price the first time and told me they have a lot of room to work with. Ask local shops to beat the price and most will.
I think the final price from Firestone was $136 per tire with road hazard and all. Plus, since I am getting it all through them, the are giving me a break on the installation too. So $408 for 4 tires + installation. I also am getting the lifetime alignment for it for $130 more. And it's for the life of the truck, not the tire like I read on the contract. I just missed out on a half price sale for that too.
2. I was speaking with one of the mechanics outside after he heard my truck and wondered what was in it. He is also a fellow yota owner. (Told him to check out this site if he ever wants to mod his truck, he said he'd check it out.) He told me he had a lifted Runner with 285/75/16's, and that he had some kind of issue with the tires doing something with the gearing or transmission. I am guessing the speedo.
Does anyone know what he may have been speaking about?
I didn't want to ask him cause he had to get back to work and figured I would ask when my tires are ready to be mounted. He did mention that it was because the 75's are taller. I just want to know beforehand what he may have been hinting at. Not gonna mess up anything by stepping up from a 70 to 75 series, except the speedo calibration, right?
I hope I didn't lose anyone with the psycho-babble.

The only fitment problem that I've encountered so far is when I turn hard to the left the front left tire rubs on the frame. There is no rubbing when I turn right. Is there an adjustment to limit how far over you can turn???

Revos are on. Gots to take em on the highway later to see how they were balanced.
$675 for the tires,mount,balance,road hazard,installation. Everything.
$140 for the lifetime alignment.
$50 in taxes (I think there is some "new tire" tax here in NJ.)
I think I got a decent deal. Plus the alignments are for the life of the truck.
