Replacing 98-2002 intake on a 96

I bought my truck a few years ago with a k&n filter that has been messing with my performance and I have been looking at going back to stock. I picked up an intake from a junkyard (airbox, maf, resonator, hose) that seems to be for a 98-2002. Will there be any issues mounting this to a 96?

The biggest difference is the MAF sensor. The earlier version was a tube cartridge thing versus the later being a modular drop in style. The plugs are similar but I believe the pin assignment is different.

Check Habeneros build thread. I think she has the pin mapping for the different styles.

How has the filter 'messed with your performance'? Have you ever cleaned & properly re-oiled it?

What fierohink said.
For how-to and pin map start with post #3326

It's been 8 months and so far it's working as well as the working maf I replaced.

I swapped my 98 3.4 out with the 2000 style MAF a few years ago

Now both engines use the same style saves having two types on the shelf
