Question Replacement Seatbelts?

I want to replace my old seatbelts. I've heard that the material deteriorates after awhile. (Oh, and I messed up one belt trying to fix it!) The stock replacements from the dealer are expensive. Has anyone found another source that will mount up using the stock attachment points? The few sources that I saw on the web list standard thread mounting bolts. I figure that our mounting points are metric thread. I haven't checked.

Thanks, that's what I figured. So, where can we get aftermarket seatbelts with metric fittings that will fit our trucks? I'll keep looking and post the source if I find it. But, if someone already has the answer let us know!

P.S. I searched the archives and couldn't find anything on YotaTech.

does toyota have a lifetime warranty on safety items like seatbelts? honda does. i think it's required by federal law if i'm not mistaken.

you can also just pick up a used set (as mentioned above) or shop around at your local pick-and-pull or salvage yard.

That's a really interesting question. My concern with my old belts isn't so much related to the functionality of the hardware as it is with the deterioration of the belt fabric. I have read several reports that show that the strength of the belt is reduced significantly over time. Some racing rules require that belts be no more than 5 years old. Is there any car company that's willing to put new belts in cars every 5 years for life?
