Replacement rear bumper?

Well, i need a replacement rear bumper since my current one is falling apart due to rust. It has several rust holes all over. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a replacement rear bumper it wouldnt necesseraly have to look like the original just something that will be safer and look better than the rusted p.o.s i have right now. Its for a 2gen 4runner 92. Thanks

I would try to locate an aftermarket piece like the bumper you have now, or either try your luck at a junk yard, but you probably won't find much there. Good luck.

FEY is a manufacturer or aftermarket bumpers that i see all the time... they look like OEM-might want to look into them...check out places like www.jcwhitney.com and such places like that....

well the cheapest i could find was about 300 for a replacement rear bumper +like 100 shipping, would it be ok to just put rust treatment on the areas scrape them clean and then fill them in with bondo. After that sand them down and instead of it being chrome spray paint it flat black?? any suggestions. Thanks.

Personally I'm looking forward to making my own bumper when my truck gets that old. Just get some 1/4" steel plates and start welding.

well i just got it like 2 months ago it is my first car paid 3500 from a dealership got a pretty good deal on it only had 116,000 miles on it only thing is that the bumper looks really bad. I am only 17 and dont know how to weld or anything figured that trying to do that bondo thing would be easiest thing. I dont have 400 to spend on a bumper but if i find something worthwhile i would be willing to save up and buy it which might take a bit of time with my current job. Well thanks for your suggestions

For what it's worth, I'm gonna have these guys build a rear bumper for me. They're only about 60 miles away and said if I swing by with my truck they'd happy to make one with proper mounts for me. Neat bumper and Great price!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7911031149
