Great site!

I was using the 'changing diffs/xcase' this weekend.

One minor typo I noticed was under Supplies, 'Amsoil 75w-80' is listed, but on the chart lower down 'Amsoil 80w-90' is listed.

Also you might put a note in there about how easy it is to round off the rear diff plugs (especially if the dealer overtightened them!), and that a 6-point 24mm socket would be best.

crux,

thanks for the compliment, edit and notes. sorry to hear about the rounding off! maybe i should also put in "spray w/ pb blaster the night before", given that the metal is soft (though i didnt have that problem myself). i just edited the writeup with your notes

X,

actually, the 99 is alot easier than the 98, imho. but remeber, thats a permanent disable.

i recall some other people writing a few weeks back on disabling it by snipping a wire or two. last i recall, it worked but not without its own problems. i believe the dome light didn't come on

in anycase, just a fyi if you intend to do it

Bob, looks good. You think the fuel filter change is relatively similar, or exactly alike, with the runners and the taco's?

It's nice to have these write-ups available in one organized place, nice job Bob!

So, just how many 4Runners have you owned? I never knew you had a 2WD...
