removing running boards

I am thinking of taking off the running boards on my '99 limited. That should give me a little more clearance, right? How hard is it to get them off? How long is that going to take? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

six bolts on either side. Remove bolts, give stubbs a call for a set of sliders ... Enjoy!
