Question Removing Front Fender Flare

I was trying to remove the front fender flare off of my 1999 4runner Limited to have it painted again because a scratch it has but i havent been able to get it off. I removed all of the screws that are visible inside the wheel well, i also drilled out these two rivet looking things.... one from the front of the flare, and another near the rear of the flare close to the running board (can only be seen when under the car). Anyway, its still as tight on the car as when i began. I tried giving it a nudge or two but i dont want to force and break it. Does anyone know what has got to be done to get this thing off? Please help ASAP if possible, i need to give this part to the painter tommorow along with my front bumper.

Are you sure? I have tried pulling it a little and it doesnt seem like it going anywhere. The actual fender doesnt need to come off to get this off right?

there are those plastic pop rivits going down the flare. I beleive there is at least 5 yellow clips and 2 white clips on the ends. Pop those off and your done....

Wow, that explains alot. But i have one more problem, i have the running boards, and the 4runner in the pics/writeup doesnt. So im guessing mine is going to be a little more complicated. Is it the same with running boards, and if not, whats different?

Thanks to the both of you

It should come apart, I think it just slides together.

I took all four of mines off, they also have a 2 way tape to hold them on as well as all those plastic and screws. After no luck in finding replacements that would cover the holes I ended putting them back on.
