Removing a 3" body lift?
I might be purchasing an '85 extra cab on Monday that has a 3" body lift. I live in Utah and I think anything over an 1" of body lift is illegal. I have always used suspension lifts and have never delt with lifting the body. Is it alot of work to remove the body lift and return it to stock.
Thanks for the info

Usually not a problem, depending on how the lift was installed. Assuming parts were not cut and welded, it should be a simple matter to lower or remove the lift altogether. I have supplied parts kits for folks doing this very thing:

Thanks for the info. The body kits I"ve seen looked to consist 10 bushings, bolts and some sort of steering shaft extender, but I'm sure not all kits are the same. Nice avatar, looks like a pic of the Golden Crack on the Golden Spike Trail.
