Rear window slipping 1st gen

Question Rear window slipping 1st gen

when i go to close my rear window in my 88... it slips down then goes up and slips down... but usually makes it all the way up. Some times I have to help it by pushing it up... anyone have this problem? please help

haven't had that problem before... sounds like it could be a gear engagement problem... I would take it apart and have a look in there. It's pretty easy to get in there to take a look, see if you notice anything unusual, such as missing teeth, lack of gear engagement, etc....

Ditto, take the carpeted panel off the inside and open it up.

Here is a picture of what you will find. Fairly simple assembly. Might have a loose bolt or somthing that is preventing the gears from engaging fully.
