Rear window & regulator removal...

Found a 2nd generation 4Runner at the wreckers and was hoping to fish out the rear window and regulator...

BUT... the engine is gone (not surprisingly), no battery and the rear key solenoid has been removed. The rear window is up and the gate is closed... any ideas as to how to get these items out?

If anyone can figure this out, someone here can...

Thanks...

If you can remove the inner tailgate cover while the gate is up you should be able to unbolt the motor and lower the window that way.
Other way is get a battery and power up the window, assuming all the wiring is in place.

Thanks E-t-R. I was thinking about that. Is it easy to lower the window (through battery power) with the rear key solenoid/assembly gone?

You'd either have to use the front switch, or get to the window control relay, which is near the rear storage bin on the driver side, behind the plastic panel. It's a small plastic box with about 20 wires. If you can get to that undo the connector and connect the battery to the red and green wires on the connector. That will make the motor work, you'll have to experiment which is + and which is - though. If the window isn't going down just reverse the wires.
