Rear Window question
I'm having problem with my rear window. While using either the key or the console switch, the window wont go all the way up. Its stops about 3-4 inches before the "closed" position. It seems like the motor dosen't have enough power. I have lubed everything with no real improvement. It will close with a little manual assist.
Is the motor on its last leg? If so can it be rebuilt or do I need a replacement?
One more thing my rear wiper is painfully slow, is this normal? Or does that motor need to replaced also.

I would check out the rear window mechanism and see if you can find out what is binding (if anything). Then try applying power directly to the motor. If it goes up and down fine that way, then it is probably a wiring or relay problem. Easy to repair the relay module if that is the cause of the problem.

I've been into my 87 and the rear window has a metal track on bottom. There are two plastic rollers on the end of the pivot arms, that run in this track as the motor is operated. I've replaced the driver side plastic roller twice as the rollers are just riveted to the arms that move when motor is powered. If one or both of these rollers are damaged(maybe flat spot??) the window will open/close erratically. Also the rivets may be loose and binding in the track??
Good luck!!
