Rear window problems!!

I have a '97 T4R limited. I've done some searching without success. My problem is that the rear window will not role DOWN. The window will engage when I attempt to role it UP, I can hear the motor and I've tested the volts when I actuate the switch. No power getting to the motor on the DOWN side. I've cleaned the center console switch. No luck. The wiper works as is should. And I've tried all the other ideas I've found without success. The wiring diagram I have is for an '02(colors don't all match) Is it possibly the latch sensor? Or maybe something else I'm missing. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does it work from the key switch on the tail gate ??

Have you checked for broken wires where they exit the tailgate??

checked the lock is not enabled or has failed.

The limit switch is working as it should.

That the motor does work in both directions by removing the inner panel and connecting the motor to a suitable 12VDC power supply.

Check what voltages you have coming and going to the window relay for the 97 looks to be mounted in the tail gate.

I get power to the motor when going up but nothing going down. The key cylinder is jacked up. It is broken off from the gate. When I put the key in it though it does nothing. The limit switch is working. I didn't check the for broken wires at the top of the gate. I'll check that. My wire diagram is for a 2002. Some of the wire colors don't match. Any info there would be awesome. And I've working on getting the license plate trim replaced to get the key cylinder back how it should be. Would the cylinder keep the window from rolling down??

It shouldn`t but if you have something jammed in there it might not be able to move.

Okay. I've fixed the key cylinder and the key makes the window go up and down now. So that wasn't it. I've double checked the switch on the center console and it works. It must be a broken wire. Thanks for the help.

check your wiring where it leaves the body and enters through the top of the hatch.

Some folks have had just hairline cracks in that area.

I'm presuming you've already checked all wiring within the hatch itself when you replaced the license plate trim surround.
