Rear sway bar bolts

Rear sway bar bolts
Today i did the OME springs and shocks in the back (was pretty much a peice of cake. first side done in an hour.. second side about 45 minutes) was my first time ever working more than a few minutes on a truck. and my first time ever doing suspension. im stolked cuz i was getting price quotes for about 500 dollars from off road shops hear... (i dont know how they justify that!)
but to my problem.. i unbolted and disconected the sway bar on each side while doing them.. on the second side (driver side) when i tried to screw the bolt back in for the sway bar the bolt i was screwing the nut onto started twisting..
the bolt part has a hex head on top.. and i tried screwing in and trying to find threads behind the rubber.. but no dice..
so even though its held up.. it might as well be taken off on that side..
im sure someones had this before..

im kinda unclear on what you tried to do. it sounds like you unbolted the endlink from the actual sway bar, and not unbolting the endling from the frame bracket.
so what you need to do is use the allen wrench to keep the "bolt" part from spinning, while you tighten it with a wrench. easy as pie.

still having some problems understanding. or maybe i didnt make it clear? does anyone have experiance with the problem im talking about? where the bolt itself comes out of whatever its conected to behind its rubber boot. (the bolt has no head, the hex receiver is smaller than the threads)

looks like we're having communication problems. i just posted a pic to help everybody see whats goin on.
so on the end of the balljoint "stud" or "bolt" (the shorter part in the pic above) has a hex insert in it.
what you need to do is take off the other bolt that connects the other end of the endlink to the frame. then once you have that off, insert a allen wrench into the hex insert. tighten the bolt to it using an open ended wrench, so that you can keep the "stud" or "bolt" from spinning. then once you have that tight, reconnect the other end to the frame bracket.
