those of you who replaced the rear coils did you also replace the bumpstops that are inside of them...or is that just a waste of money....i was gonna go with the Downey HD coils.....do you guys bottom out alot with the HD coils?

I can't remember having bottomed out yet with the Downey's.

 

Me neither.
Just the stock ones inside the Downey HD coils.

Ya, I wouldn't sweat it.

It would take a lot of weight in the rear to make the springs bottom out I think. Even when moving back and forth from school with the rear completely loaded, I never bottomed out over speed bumps or anything like that.

 

they must be pretty nice then! (the HD coils) cause even unload my rear is like less than half an inch from the bumpstops:cry:

 

With my Downey HD springs and I never did bottom out yet.

 

With the stock sag I ran on the rear bumpstops all the time. Haven't hit them once since going Downey.

 

Same thing here. I never bottom out with the Downey HD coils yet either.

Plus I'm carrying over 200 lb of stuff back there, more like 250.
These coils are great.

 

i replaced them only because the one was starting to fall apart from the stock coils beating them up but never that i can recall have i bottom out with the new coils but do buy the H.D not the light duty ones. i also have there H.D torsion bars and love them to
