Rear axle housing difference?

Is there any differences in the rear axle housing for e-locker vs non-locker? Or 4cyl vs 6cyl? or years '97 vs '99?

I'm looking to buy a used 3rd while I send mine out for repair and want to know if any 3rd will fit or how close I have to get for a drop in match. I realize if the ratio doesn't match the front, I won't be able to use 4wd, but it's the middle of April so I think I'm good on that for a few months.

I'm not a know it all on this subject, but I think you will find that if you have an E-locker the axle housing is different. All of the others are the same as far as I know.

Will a non-locker 3rd fit in my e-locker axle without leaks is really the part I need to know. Non-locker rears are $200 on eBay, e-lockers are $600.

very doubtful, check the threads on here about adding an e-locker to a standard housing, it involves drilling and tapping new holes as well as cutting out a square notch for the e-locker to fit.
