I was reading another thread on here that you can buy a couple of buckets of teflon and coat the wheels. But then you have to find a way to bake it on there. They sell teflon coated wheels already. I'm just waiting for someone to actually do it to their own wheels and see how it holds up.

Have you noticed when coming down I-17 between I'd say T-BIRD down to about NORTHERN, the road there is really rough; all lanes? My truck vibrates just like you are describing when driving through there. My passenger seat rattles like a 30's truck.

That is the only spot where I've noticed that.

Totally. I was on that stretch of road just today. Scared me for a second since I had just got my old rims back on!

Not to mention both north and south lanes past the 101.

All them trailers going to and from the HAPPY VALLEY LANDFILL are just tearing that road apart.

Now that part right there is just hurrendous!

You're going to love the TECH 1's by the way.

Or get them powder coated. I'm considering that for my bling'in MT's.

If I get the time, I'll test it out on my other set of rims to see how they look, but it'll be later this year. Not much of a priority, I still have a host of other projects to complete first. The coating process is very durable and won't peel off like regular paint.

Another option is to sandblast the rims to take the shine off and then get them annodized black.

Christian -
Those don't look bad... they go well with your front bumper!

Honestly though - after having a chance to take a look at them closely, I have to say that I didn't care too much for the glossy look on that black. I think I'm more into the matte look. Still, stock isn't so bad - stock coated with Teflon, now there's an idea!

I'm pretty sure I don't ever have to worry about my rig being able to go that fast....

But, I can't wait to put my steelies on this summer! Hopefully I don't take a big hurt in performance. I can't afford to lose much more acceleration and/or gas mileage.
