i have 1995 4runner with a 3.0 in it. the check engine light came on so i thought i would do the checks that i can oil, plugs, wires etc..well while pushing the plug wires on the cap i get a zap fron one of them. i replaced the wire that was zapping me and started the engine. now a different wire is zapping me..any ideas... maybe a ground wire or something...

 

Did you unhook your negative battery terminal?

what do you mean...i have it hooked up.. will it always give you a shock...

 

If you are not experiencing driving problems then just unhook your negative cable from your battery and it will clear the the check engine light. If you do have a problem then the light will come back on.

I would definately replace all of the wires. And, of course reset the CE light by disconnecting the - terminal.
