Quick Question About Brake TSB on '01 Runner
OK, I've searched all over the place...hell, I even joined alldatadiy.com! But I'm all prepared to replace the rotors and pads tomorrow morning (all the gear is purchased and ready to install)...I have one little question. Was there ever a brake TSB issued on the 2001 SR5 Runner? I get conflcting info...some places hint at it and others make no mention. The NHTSA has nothing about any TSBs except for the ball joint replacement one.
Anyone know for sure if there has been one or not? I'd rather not do it all myself and have the stealership do it, but I can't get in touch with them until Monday. Tomorrow is Sunday!
Any help would be really appreciated!!

i belive u got the brake tsb confused with the older tundras. The only tsb the 01 4runner got is the lower ball joint. But if ur gonna do brakes i highly suggest doing the tundra brake upgrade. Search for it good luck.

Thanks Kevin, I think that's where I had gotten mixed up...
I've been reading about the Tundra brake mod. Even though there is a crapload of threads about this mod, it's very confusing. All I need to know is, and I 'think' I have this right, if I do go with the Tundra brakes, I need the 199mm calipers and obviously, the Tundra rotors since I have 15 inch wheels.
I bought Hawk pads today and got lucky that I found them without having to order them. The rig shakes so bad that I really don't want to wait, so I may just go ahead and put on what I have tomorrow and then move to the Tundra gear next time.
Thoughts anyone?
