Questions about installing bigger battery and new cables.
I am about to put in my new odyssey battery and I have 2 questions.
1: from someone that has installed the 1700 version (or another oversized battery) what will I need to do to get it to fit and be stable?
2: my old battery cables are horrible! I really need to get some new ones in there. Has anyone done this? I can?t tell how they are routed/hooked up in the split loom and I don?t want to open it up until I am going to do it. What cables will I need? Can I use pepboys cables? Or does it have to be OEM?
Thanks!

Well, you already heard from me regarding the battery - all you need to do is drop it in and have something on top/bottom...
I have two spacer/riser things on top of mine so I can use the OEM battery hold down - the battery is long but not very tall. What you could do is secure something to the bottom of the battery to make it sit a little higher, I'd say about 1.5" of added height should do the trick.
Someone else will help out on the cables - I'm not sure.

There are a few cables that need to be "pulled" depending on how far ya wanna go...
On mine I decided to upgrade all the "major" cables with 1/0 welding cable
battery ground to ground bolt on fenderwell
battery ground to engien block
For those I pulled and tossed the OEM cables. They are not in the harness so its easy to do.
I ran a new 1/0 cable from the alternator to the battery positive.
I pulled the OEM charge cable from the alt to the "bolt" thats in the harness. Follow the wire till it gets to this plastic "box" and open the box - unbolt and reseal the box.

Well the ground sounds simple enough but since i don't get the positive part i am guessing i will once i start it, LOL.
Overall doesn't sound that hard. What all did you have to buy? How many feet of 1/0 Cable? Any connectors/fittings? (other than the battery ones...duh...)

Well since i only have a week before i leave on my road trip i don't have time to order. So home depot is where the wire will come from but i know they have welding wire i have have got some before.
Did you get yous precut or did you buy it and then cut it? I just want to have an idea as to how much to get, that stuff is not cheap.

Sorry to bring this back up.
I was just woundering what kind of connectors you needed for the wires?
Since my truck will be disabled while doing this i need to have everything before hand.
