I'm ordering the Series 2000 Synthetic 75W-90 for my '97 Tacoma 5spd 4WD but I have a question. The manual says this will work for the tranny and transfer case, but the differential is calling for Hypoid oil gl5, Sae90. The tech at Amsoil said the Series 2000 is what I need for the differential as well. What do you guys think?

I'm an independent dealer for amsoil. The Series 2000 75W-90 gear lube covers GL-2 thru GL-5. So yes that is correct.

A buddy is an AMSOIL dealer so I took my manual with me and we wound up ordering a case of Series 2000 Synthetic 75W-90 for diffs, trans. and transfer case. That should give me about 2 extra quarts. It was under $70 including shipping

I'll be switching my engine over eventually too, just can't afford it right now.

No shee-ot!!! Down here in Atlanta it hasn't been as bad as other parts. This morning it was $1.53 for 87octane. Last summer it was like .97cents!!!!!!!!

 

Dang, Atlanta's gas is cheap compare to ours. We pay as much as $2.39/gal for an 87 octane in San Francisco. The average price is about $2.25/gal. Don't come down here!

 

Damn, that is highway robbery!! After a month of filling up it's like making a second car payment!!!!!
