I have noticed lately that in between shifts, I am loosing at least 5 mph. Could this be a sign that I need to do some tlc to my wheel bearings? I also have not ruled out that my brakes have gone lazy and are dragging. Any thoughts?

And before you say it, I will. I just need to find the time to get the wheels off and look at the hub assemblies. I guess I am just grasping for any reassurance that this loss might be normal.

Also I read alot about replacing the FWB but how about the rear wheel bearings should I look at them to? How hard are they to inspect / change.

 

My truck did this once, but it wasn't the bearings, it was the brakes. The pistons became corroded from water in the brake fluid. Every time I hit the brakes they never fully released. This was making the pistons stick. I bought a rebuid kit and honed the cylinders. It was an easy fix.
