Purchasing a new lift. Need opinions

I want to buy a lift for my 97 limited but im not sure what kind to buy! Im not sure if I want spacers or new springs and shocks. What lift rides better? I am not going to be doing and hardcore wheelin but maybe just a little trail use but not a lot at all. I want to be able to run a 285/75/16. I also dont want to spend an arm and a leg for a lift. I want to have a good stance a good look fit bigger tires and be able to ride on a light trail and be a comfy ride! Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced both lifts or any of them at all? Give me some good advice cause I sure need it! Also what size lift? I dont want a body lift I know for sure! All the suggestions you can give would help me out a lot. Thanks

not much if you want to do it right. there are the spacer lifts, but the ride quality isnt going to be the same. i love the setup I have, I saved up and did it right the first time.

you can run 265's with no lift. I ran 265's for a while with my lift and it didnt look bad.

As everyone has stated there aren't really many options for what you want. It's my understanding that to be able to run 285's and not rub you need atleast a 2.5" lift. Sonoransteel makes some nice kits. I personally am looking into the ss#7 lift. Another option would be an all OME lift, it would be a little cheaper than the ss lifts but most people prefer the convienience of having everything in a nice kit. I would say if you want to spend the least amount of money but have a nice ride and equally nice stance the Performance product springs might be worth looking into. They sould give you atleast an inch and a half and I hear they tighten up the ride of the runner. They eliminate that floating feeling and reduce a lot of the body roll. Also if your not going to be doing any real off-roading you should be able to stuff so 285's under your rig with the PP springs. Most people get rubbing issues with 285's when the tires stuffed and turning. Spacer lifts are the cheapest choice but I don't they really suit what you want. I also hear that the ride quality isn't exactly 'comfy' either.

2x for Toytec, but u should go with new coils all around (if im guessing right u have a 97 4runner) but new coils all around and new shocks. Dont go with just spacers, they might be cheaper but not worth it because i think they just make your existing coils wear out faster.
