Pulled my Error code slow o2 circuit...
I took my truck up to Oreilly's and they pulled my code and cleared it. Is said slow o2 circuit so I am assuming I have a bad o2 sensor. The truck has 103,000 miles on it.

1. Under Dog Racing
2. OEM
3. It so simple anybody could do it--really--unbolt O2 sensor, disconnect connector, connect new O2 and bolt up.
4. 100k--time to replace O2 sensor for sure.

I reccoemnd go with OEM not meaning a toyota one but when you go to the autoparts they usually have a vehicle specific and a universal one. Get the vehicle specific. No offense but I kinda wonder why when people get a code from a computer and it is saying O2 sensor, they question what the problem is!?

Wanna talk about O2 sensors listen to this. I recently completed a trip of 1500 miles. About halfway through the trip the Check Engine light came on, hmm I thought. The vsc light was also on but I didn't notice because I had the vsc and abs turend off at the time. Anyhow I got home a took it to the shop. My mechanic said they had a Lexus in last week that had the same issue. I was like what issue, he replied the O2 sensor trips the code, and the check engine light comes on a result. Huh I thought. He said they were a bit priciey for them to install them and recommended I do it. The only problem is I'm not sure which one it is.

Well a p0420 is the ECU telling you the cat or cat's aren't doing a good job of scubing the exhaust of bad stuff. The fix is usually a new cat or 2 (expensive I know) or a cheater way is this: http://www.urdusa.com/product_info.p..._id=1230100014

Hmmm
Catalytic converter, 4-runner, 6 cylinder, rear 01-02 $823.24 from toyota part sales. ! or $60 from urd for the bypass thingy. Now the responsible thing would be to replace the cat. I will have to use the pro con method to determine what is the best fit. Or $25+ $35 core on ebay. Or a couple ther cat options on ebay too, I dunoo what should one do in this situation?

Any chance you're still under the federal emissions warranty? I think there are some other possibilities too, like maybe the rear O2 sensor being bad but you'll have to search that.

Umm federal warranty? At 158k not likely, I have a fancy volt meter so it might not be hard to tell if the rear sens. is bad. I know thats the cheaper one of the two. I would like to be responsible and keep my emissions low as I can.
