projector headlamps

Hi Folks,
I know this is probably been beaten to deaf.. but I want to retrofit some HID/projector to my 2002 4runner... I know some folks here took out there headlamps and retrofit it themselves by melting the glue and tinker with it.. I was wondering if the following would work?

http://www.matrixracing.com/BI4365Details.htm

Does anyone know about this? It doesn't come w/ the hid/ballast.. but having this is the first step to true hid retrofit.

Thanks!!

I don't know if it would work but damn if it does I just may have to look into retro converting my 95 back to that style of lights.

Surely there is more to it than that?

Those use just a normal h4 bulb, they are not hid, wish it was that easy though!

Uses standard H4 replacement bulbs (sold separately or you could buy them at any local autoparts store).

I would to custom fabricate a set of BMW or Nissan HID's into my 4Runner. Once I find a donor set at a good price I will go ahead with the project. The switch should accomodate any Bi-Xenon setup.

Those headlights won't fit any 4Runner above a '92 or '93, or whenever it was that they went to the more aerodynamic headlight/grille.

the lights listed above suck!

i have the same ones except i got mine from procarparts.com

i have since put the stock lights back in and they are a much more focused pattern...

if it is more light output you seek, upgrade the harness, that will improve it tons over stock.... www.4crawler.com has the harness kits

oh yeah, these are not projector headlights... all they are is a empty housing with a glass lens in it... its actually held up by to metal pieces, that you cannot see in advertised picures... they are pretty ghetto really..... also these are not street legal....

hella does make a kit that is DOT legal and allows use of an h4 bulb

mine were bright, and i liked the whiteness of the bulbs they sent me, however one died, and i replaced them with just some regular cheapie replacemnt stock h4 bulbs and then it really sucked......

well mine are "bright" they just do not project far ahead enough, it seems like. Short distances, however, i love the look and intensity.
