Prices when new '96-'02

I was wondering what the real world (not MSRP) prices were for 3rd gens when purchased new? Anybody have window stickers?

For those who know or bought their's brand new could you list year and trim level and any major options that padded the price?

I would like to know what mine went for in '99 particularly.

I don't think I still have the window sticker (I'll have to check when I get out of work). But here's the deal wiht my 96.

Purchased new June 3, 1996.
3.4L V6 with auto tranny
15" wheels
cloth seats
running boards
sunroof
AC, power windows/locks
AM/FM/Cassette with 6 speakers
power antenna
rear heater
NO roofrack
NO alarm or keyless entry
NO cargo cover
NO cd player (had the dealer install it as part of our "negotiations")

Sticker was $31,xxx I paid $28k even.

It either works or it doesn’t. What don’t you like?

Glad you asked. I hate the fact that if I get out of the truck, and want to go back in it, I need to remember to get out, lock it, then unlock it. Otherwise my alarm starts blazing when the door is opened. If there is a way to immobilize this auto-engage "feature", I am all ears.

Second, when the alarm does go off, the remote will not stop it, neither will putting the key in the ignition, neither will manually locking/unlocking the doors. I found I have to turn the key enough to crank the motor before it stops.

There is, page 17 on the manual, disarming the passive mode.

I'll ask the original owner what he paid for the 4runner when new. I have the window sticker out in the car if you're interested in markups. I can tell you I have a 97 SR5 with every option save the auto tranny (i.e. locker, leather, hitch, rack, heater etc):

window sitcker: $39+k

In fact, I'll grab the window sticker, if I remember at lunch.

$39k+ WTF??? My mom's '99 was right around 37k and the current Limiteds are just over $41k. I guess Runners have always been pricey.

I MUST have a digit out of whack. $29k seems to cheap. 39k$ too expensive.

If anyone wants to guess go ahead (sr5 - v6, 5 sp, 4wd, leather, locker, double din stereo, leather, rear heater, cargo, rack, alarm, chrome, alloy wheels, tow hitch/harness, air, power/power, sunroof, bags, abs, tach, tinted windows, blah).

Found out the sr5 topped at 34k. So musta been less than that.

That would be cool since I'm still curious of price diffs from all 4Runners and window sticker pics would help out a lot.

Don't forget $30,000 in 1999 is around $35,000 in 2005 money. That's using very conservative government figures too. The 4Runner is definitly more bang for the buck now.

You don't have the chrome wheel arch moldings, because they were superceeded by:

chrome running boards and fender flares 845.00
