Prerunner with elocker
I thought the elocker is only available with 4WD. I was surprised to see one when I visited my friend here in San Diego. He has a 2003 Tacoma 2WD V6 with the elocker. I verified it myself and saw the pushbutton on the dash ad the elocker motor on the diff. I even showed him how and when to use it. He doesn't know what it was for.

An e-locker is an on demand axle locking system. In an "open" differential, in a turn only one wheel may have power to the wheels to keep it from skidding and causing premature wear on the tires. In selectable locker as an e-locker you can flip a switch and lock both wheels to have torque on them therefore more traction is added since you have both wheels pulling instead of just one. It's mainly used for low traction situations such a mud, snow, sand, and rock crawling. You ain't stupid, when I first got into the "wheeling" scene I thought it was like somthing to store things in
but then I learned through the magazines and experience.
