power steering pressure line leak

(1999 4runner v6)
I've got a slow leak from the pressure line going to the steering rack. It looks like corrosion is the culprit.
The dealer wants $550 + tx canadian for the replacement line. I can't seem to find any other source..anyone have any ideas? $550 +tax seems a bit outrageous for a steering hose...even the guy at the parts desk choked on that one.

Did you try autozone or something like that? My P/S hose for my 4runner was discontinued, so I had to get a gates one. it was $70, and works fine so far. I think the OE part was around $400.

Try a U.S. dealer and have it shipped. Get the part number and price it out on http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com or somewhere similar. That what I do when I need dealer parts. For instance... I had to unfortunatly order some nuts and bolts from the local dealer... $4 a bolt for the axel flange...$1.20 online from that site. Even after tax/shipping/duty I'm still saving like 30%. EDIT: Actually, I'm saving closer to 50-60%. And I just realized the nuts and bolts I got are going to cost me over $50 !!?? Stupid dealership!

Either way its not going to be less than $400, I wouldn't go OE for this part personally, its just too expensive otherwise
