Does any one know what the crosoover or exchange years are on a toyota power steering gear box. I need to replace the box on my wifes 1999 4Runner and my local PnP has a 1991 4runner with what looks like a recently replaced unit.

On an unrelated topic, are Toyota trucks prewired for power windows and locks? This 1991 4Runner mentioned above has a typical 4Runner interior which would be a nice upgrade for the base interior in my 1991 x-cab pu.

'96 and later 4Runners (and the '95.5 and later Tacoma pickups) have rack and pinion steering, the '86-'95 4Runners have the recirculating ball steering box.

Not sure on the later models, I don't think they were on the earlier ones. You could pull off a door panel and see if there is wiring there, or at least a connector near the door jambs.
