mpg depends on my driving really.
With 300lbs of crap and my 180lb fat arse doing about 90-100 (trying to catch a plane) I got 15mpg.
With the same load doing 65mph with no revving Ill get 22 - 23mpg.
235/75r15 X radial LT michellen 6ply (HEAVY tire)
4.11 gear
auto tranny
3.slow
new fuel filter
fipk
carsound cat.

um, might be helpful to list what engine you have people. 2 people stated what engine they have, others have it in their sig, some just left it to the imagination.
mtnkid85, also might be helpful to say which engine you are interested in the stats for...

90 2dr 4Runner 3.0 auto 222k mi. with 4.10 gears, ADD hubs 31" tires. Average is about 15.5-16 mpg.
(Don't know if it helps much, but this truck has a new o2 sensor, k&n air filter, high flow cat and Dynomax ST muffler)
86 2dr 4Runner 2.4 5spd 197k mi. with 4.10 gears, Manual hubs 31" tires. Average is about 15 mpg.
(complete exhaust system upgrade in the works, hopefully this will help improve power and gas mileage)

1. Spark plugs
2. Plug wires
3. Distributer cap
4. Rotor
5. Fuel filter
6. O2 sensor
7. Air filter (I just went with stock after hearing about the AFM possibly going out.)
8. Injector cleaner
I think that's about it.
Good Luck.

EDIT: I also run premium gas.

'91 original (that's code for I have no idea what the gearing is.)
I'm running 31s on it. Auto tranny, 3.0L. Anywhere from 17 to 20 (the 20's if I get to draft some tractor trailers on the way to work.)
I was getting 14-16 and changed the air filter, which desperately needed it. I plan on doing an airbox mod to see if that helps.

Except for the narrow trails, It's quite fun.
We just had a Happening with the Disco Club. Everyone
fared well. Oh ya there were a few Tacos there too
. Tacos fared better in some areas where the Discos and H2's laboured.Vice versa when power climbs were needed
.I'll admit, H2 needs alot more articulation but other than that, Me's Happy

Hee, hee!
Reading this thread makes me feel great. I asked about milage when I bought my 95 4Runner, and the salesman kind of mumbled something, so I was expecting the worst. Turns out the worst milage I have ever gotton was 15.5 MPG (wintertime with 4WD on all the way), while the best was 20.5 (wintertime with 2WD, going through mountain passes at 80MPH in a stinkin' blizzard). I average about 17.8 with most driving being in the city, to work and back. I have a totally stock 1995 3.0L 4Runner Limited 5-Speed. I feel bad for you guys that get around 11-13. That's gotta suck!!
