Exclamation Post your axle code!

Alright guys, I've stumbled upon some new info about my rig and I want to see what everyone else has. I'm kind of confused because my axle code (G254) says that I have 4.56 gears but my rig came with 225s stock. I was expecting to find that I have 4.10s but apparently that isn't the case. I'm really interested in seeing what the axle code is of those who have a V6 4wd AT with 31s stock.

Please post your axle code, stock gears, and stock size tires. If it's not in your sig, you might want to throw in engine and tranny too. This is open to anyone as I'm sure this info could be useful to others in the future.

BTW, here is the page with axle codes and gearing.

Thanks

G254 = 4.56 5 speed transmission 31" tire option on mine.
Sound right for your gear ratio and tire option autos seem like they are always geared lower than manuals.

My buddy Dan has a 94 4 Runner 5 speed v6 as well his had the 225 tire option his axle code is G294 so his came with 4.10's.

Since I have 4.56s, would it even be worth it to spend $3-400 to swap in 4.88s? I know it will make a difference but will it be that much of a difference to justify the money?

well to find out for sure, jack one tire off the ground and spin it 2 revolutions and count the number of drive shaft revolutions
and according to THIS website you have 4.56's

G144 and 31s.

EDIT: Went and double checked the sticker, axle code is G144 but tire stated is 225.

Your stock tire size was HR78-15, just like mine was. Closest metric size is 225/75-R15.
