Post what you paid for Lockers\Posi, gears and where you got them.
I'm pretty new here but one of the hardest things I've found is to wade through so many posts, even with the search to find out where to find the best prices, or even figuring out a ball park price. I hate getting all excited about a part just to get linked to a web site that makes me call for a price quote. Especially if they are closed on the weekends
We should try to get some common mod Topics ie Headers, Lift Kits, etc.... where people JUST put what they paid and where they got things. And keep bumping them to keep them near the top. Bottom line is that everbody wants the cheapest price. And most people are asking the same questions about items.
Just an idea, your thoughts?
Or do you have any search tips that might help?

If all goes the way I plan it and I sell my stock 16" alloys tomorrow I'll be ordering the Powertrax Lock-Right Locker from TruckPerfomance.com for $198.93 for the rear. Front will come later. It's the one for the 8" ring. Here's the link:

toyota lockers
igot real lucky i found a 83 toyota 4x4 in a local salvage yard where you pull the parts yourself and the prices are real cheap. i got the whole back rear complete with a detroit locker and 5.29 gaers for $45 and after ripped it apart and figured out it had the 5.29's i went back next week and got the front centersection for $25. they'll sell a whole front solid axle rear for $75 and any year tranny and case for $110. they didnot know it had that stuff the truck was stolen and ditched in there parking lot the guy never came to get it so he sent them the title and they put in there yard to part out. the place is big they have 10.000 cars and trucks. there web site is wegotused.com there name is harry's you pull it in hazleton PA

I feel your pain Ryan. I am still torn between the ARB locker and the Toyota E-Locker like Phong's. The biggest problem I have is finding somebody around here that has done a toyota re-gear and locker installation before. I am not about to let somebody learn how to do it on my Runner.

I want to go ARB, but haven't found any qualified shops around here. I'm willing to drive a hundred miles or so to find someone...
Since I have factory 4.88's I'll just be adding the locker. If I attempt this myself, do I have to remove the gears to do it and re-setup the backlash and all that stuff all over again?

Example write up on an Izusu from the Wire.
Another Wire write up on a Toy V6 More words and less pictures. Also this starts with an empty diff housing, the 'Zu one starts with a working truck.

Thanks for the links, Matt. I have a good shop that can mess with the gearing, and even do conventional lockers and LSD's but I have yet to ask them if they can do or are willing to do the ARB. After reading those links, the gearing set up is a bit more than I should tackle.
I can handle mounting the compressor, wiring it, and running the plumbing. I'd like to use the factory Toyota Locker switches. Do you think these are compatible?

Those prices are too steep.
Try looking for complete thirds as long as you are not keeping the stock ratio.
Rear ARB'd third from Drivetrain Direct around 1200 with a 200 or 250 core, which you would have. That is Precision gears, Timken bearings, all the good stuff.
Call 4Wheel Parts and tell them you want a compressor for $185.
Not sure who ships a complete 3rd gen front third, but I would try ORS perhaps or ask Drivetrain Direct.
If you want to cobble pieces and go local with the install try ORS or Bent and Twisted for the ARB, definitely under 600 maybe even Rusty's.
I got dual ARB's with Precision 5.29's for around 2k.

I think http://www.shaffersoffroad.com/ is still having a special sale on ARB's 'til the end of the month. Got mine there last year and it was $100 less than what other places were charging. Give 'em a call and ask for the Pirate Board special on ARB's.
