for the past 2 days when i start my truck in the morning or from a cold start this kinda loud popping or knocking noise occurs. can anyone explain please. this isnt bad i hope? ...

Does the idle fluctuate during the popping? Any recent work/mods?

 

it only pops/knocks once and that is right when the crank is turned over and the engine starts.

 

Does the pop make the truck shake?

 

no ... it just pops on cold starts right when the engine starts ... after that it seems fine to me. the sound kinda reminds me of a cork being taken out of a wine bottle ... that kind of pop except lower tone.

 

There was a thread about this a while back. If I remember right, the commonality was that everyone had a deckplate mod, and it was open.

I am pretty sure this is "normal" - but dont mark my word on it. See if you can duplicate this with the deckplate closed.

 

thanks man ... i had a feeling it was either that or the isr mod that was causing the pop.
