Installation was quite easy and the bumper fit very well. You'll notice a slight gap between the fender and bar. I may do some black painting in there to hide the gap as much as possible.

No winch 'til maybe the New Year or it'll be the "Winch That Stole Christmas"

Only real issue I had was I couldn't get the rear-most bolts in; the ones with the offset washer. They didn't seem to want to grab thread. I don't think that hole was ever used so I may have to re-tap it. I'll do that when the winch goes in.

Take Care,

Warren

Hey Warren, looks good...very rugged especially with those muds. Bet you're anxious for the winch and then a good trial run!

Lookin' good there Warren.
Almost had to do a double take since our rigs are both white and sportin' the Load Warrior rack on top.

That will look great too once you get a winch for it.
Are these the bolts you had trouble with?

Also these left over holes can be used for extra tow hooks.

I don't have extra ones on mine yet.

How does it ride with the stock T bars? You might find like I did when you add a winch later that you will need the SAW 25mm T bars like I am running.

Again, it looks killer on there.

Thanks for the comments guys. Good idea with the extra tow hooks.

No, I had no problems with those bolts. My hardware kit included some LARGE offset washers and two extra bolts which I think are supposed to go just behind those two; one on each side. They fit in where that loop is at the bottom left of your red circle and bolt straight up like the two you've pointed out.

The off set washer is big enough to encompass that small cut-out which is why I'm almost positive that this is where they go.

I haven't done any hard braking yet but the ride seems just fine with the stock T-bars. I have SAWs on order though.

Where do you mount your front plate? I saw something mentioned on your site about an accessory available. I just know mine's gonna get creamed there. I'll probably just put some butterfly nuts on it and remove it when I go wheelin'.

Take Care,

Warren

Hi Warren, I don't run a front plate.
I am suppose to in the state of WA., but a lot don't who put on the custom bumpers.

I talked with the local police here, and they said more than likely if they saw me, they'd pull me over because a lot of Toyotas get stolen, and it would be just for that to see if I am driving a stolen rig.

But I have passed several police and state troopers and they have said nothing.

But just in case, I have a backup plan.
See page III of my mods section.

About half way down is a mod to hold the license plate on.
I bought it from 4Wheeler Supply, who orders them from Kilby.

Very trick. It's just a steel plate, and Maglite D cell brackets like that hold my Maglite to my passenger floor mat.

So if I ever do get pulled over, I can whip it out and put it on if need be.

Current Model?

Is that a new ARB? I thought they were putting a little flare out around the headlights. Corey, didn't you mention this before a while back? Or is that just on the Taco? Call me curious...

Hey Skydigger,

I just got my ARB put on yesterday. I took some pics but they did not come out. I am going to try again now but it may be too dark. Anyways, I too have a bit of a gap as well. In fact, mine went on exactly as yours. Mine came with a license plate holder and covers up the fairlead opening. If I couldn't mount the plate, I was just going to get the roller fairlead and cover to hide the hole until I put a winch on there. From about 10 feet away, it is really hard to tell if there is a gap. The other funny thing is that I feel the front of my truck has come up a bit and now sits more level. I'll have to get all of your opinions on how level it is when I post pics. Your truck looks great! I really do love the ARB look. It is totally bomber!

ARB

Hey congrats!

Yep. I love it so far. Did yours fit without any mods? I thought it was a little more difficult on the 3rd gens.

Anyways, have fun with it.

....which winch are you planning to put in there?

I took some pics but they are way too dark even with the flash. As for the install, there was cutting and modding to be done. I had it installed as it was beyond my capability. I will probably put a Warn M8000 in there. I saw a brand new one on ebay for $415 yesterday but the auction has a couple of days to go and I can't afford one right now anyways. Pics will be up tomorrow for sure!

Good idea. I've never thought of looking there.
