Polyurethane body mount bushings?
Going to be installing 4crawler 1" body lift tomorrow. Its too late for me to order them now, but I may go back at some point and install polyurethane body mount bushings. Anybody done this on their 3rd gen, and noticed any difference?

I don't have a 3rd gen Runner but I installed 'em in my '86 truck when installing Roger B's bodylift and noticed the ride was a little more stiff and harsh. It bothered me enough that I re-installed the stock rubber bushings.

Although they're not listed as a product by a specific manufacturer, Roger has them listed on his site, he must have recently put together his own kit (see #7, "picture pending").

I have the 3rd gen bushing kit picture up now:

Shown combined with a 1" body lift.

So far have 2 kits out there, both just recently installed. Have not had any feedback on ride quality.
I found my 1st gen poly bushings improved the ride quality. It was different than stock, you do get more high frequency vibration transfered to the body, but you don't have as much rattling and shuddering since the poly ties the body to the frame more securely. So it is a bit of a tradeoff, you get a little more "road feel" on pavement, but off-road it is a much quieter, solid ride:

I have this kit installed on my 1998 Runner since (Feb 08) and think they have increased (although marginal in my opinion) my ride quality. I took one look at the stockies and decided to go ahead and replace them simply b/c
1. They needed to be replaced at some point (I plan on keeping this ride for another 100K miles)
2. I was already ripping it apart for the BL install so why not?!?!
just my 2 cents

I'm alive!
Around the time I got banned from WATTORA, I got alot more into 'cruisers- I'll have to post some pics of my other ride. Corey shot me an email just recently, which reminded me it had been a long time since I visited the site.
Hope everybody is well, and once I'm done building the exhaust for my 40, hope to see some of you on the trail!

It was pretty lame- Rob was spouting off giving his holier-than-thou attitude, and I called him on it. It had been brewing for a while, I found that trail rides I did with him usually irritated me more often that not, so I departed for greener pastures.
Things are crazy-busy, but I'll try to post a bit more once the cruiser gets out of the garage. Glad to see you folks are all still active on the board, been along time since I've seen many of ya!

Dave, was Jackson your dog?
I can not remember.
But I did find an old trail run we went on back in 2003 with a dog in one of the pictures I took.

on’t mind me as I quietly make my way out of this reunion. Seems I missed the date on a dusty thread.
