PLEASE HELP!! Won't start after 1" RB BL!

Can anybody help me? I am getting desperate-- Me and my dad just installed a one inch Roger Brown Body Lift and it went very well. Loosened the battery cables, even the bracket down low on the frame below the battery (on a 97 4Runner SR5 manual transmission). Installed the steering extension as well. Go to start it and it won't start up-- Cranks over just fine, all the electrical seems to work, but it just won't catch. The tail pipe smells like gas. We waited to see if it was flooded, but no dice. My 4Runner has never taken more than 2 attempts at starting and now just doesn't happen.

Any ideas? Let me know asap. Thanks, gang.

The battery is not old, will check the EFI fuse. (And I did go through the whole "starting a flooded engine" procedure in the owner's manual....
Thanks....

Did you re-ground the engine? There's a wire behind the engine block that grounds to the body...

umm... How about the ground? Meaning, since you put in a spacer, maybe your interior ground is not working correctly. I'm thinking maybe the computer isn't getting a ground. Just a thought. check that electricity can get from your computer ground to the frame (or attach a wire.)

I was also thinking about your clutch cancel might not be "lined" up with the lift, but I wouldn't think that the engine would crank - so it can't be that.

anyway - might not help but might cause someone else to think of something better.

DOnt think this would be a problem, but check your fuel lines. (They run underneath along the body on the drivers side.)

I could see it being easy to kink one or something during the installation.

Make sure your batter cables are on there snug.

Check your sparkplug wires

I have never looked under the hood of that year toyota, but I would check to see if could have knocked of the a wire related to the ignition system. Just a stab in the dark.

Good luck!!!!!!!!
