I posted some pics of my Axle housing if you guys wanna see it...

Also, I heard back from that ebay listing for $450 for the axle assembly.. They said..

"sorry but this is not to have been listed it is not complete and is not good enough for my ebay customers it will be removed from ebay."

Doesn't look promising

housing looks past the welding stage, I would just find a housing or get the one for 450 shipped and fix the diff with the kit. or like someone else said get the complete axle and then sell your diff and other parts.

a guy on t4r.org had his welded shut. Check this out. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-ge...tml#post748261

If you need to replace the diff too, then it might be cheaper to just keep looking for a full assembly.

if your gona weld it i would get a marlin full diff armor and weld it over that, maybe even cut off the back of yours and weld the armor on. but too just weld yours as is I would say once you start there the hole will get bigger. that whole area is probably pretty thin.

Hmm... I will contact some Welders in the area tomorrow and see what their opinion is on that. If thats possible (Cut the back out and place the armor in) and cost effective I'll definitely go that route, those armor plates are only $65
