Picture Request: 96-98 OEM Foglight Mount
For those of you that have the OEM Hella rectangular foglights, can i see how they are mounted? All i've ever seen in pictures is that they are in the valence, but i'd like to see the bracket or whatever it is that holds them there...

TIA

I would take a picture of mine, but it's raining outside. On my '96, OEM fog lights did not come installed. I did have some rectangular PIAA fog lights lying around and installed those. You'll need to cut the lower valence a little to make some room, then just bolt the fog lights on using the holes in the tabs on the steel part of the bumper. Hopefully this makes sense to you.

Ditto. Our 98 did not come with factory fogs, but we installed PIAA lights in the lower valence (plastic grill part). There are already holes in the steel bar that you can use, you just have to measure and figure where to cut the plastic.
If you want, you could even use a piece of flat bar bolted to the bumper bar, mount the lights to that, then you could recess them back a bit so they aren't flush to the front and protected against minor impacts.
Hope this helps,
Merlin

Not to steal this post, but can you tell me if wiring harness was put in all 4Runers for OEM fog lights? I have a 1996 SR5 and I was planning to install fog lights there as well.
Thank you.
Thank you.

that PP Hella kit is awesome. i had it in my truck before i got my TJM. Its definately pricey, but you get a very good wiring harness and the toyota switch. The kit was very easy to install. i don't have any pics of brackets and what not since i sold the kit. The relays must be ordered though, in case your's goes. Its a hella relay and in order to get the pins to line up with a universal relay, you have to rework the plug.

okay here is what i have to work with:

i realize i will have to cut the valence but where do i mount a light? are those 2 holes in the bottom of the metal part where the factory fogs are mounted? if so...why are they out to the side of where the actual light is located?

Those 2 holes are where i mounted my 2 procomp lights. Seemed to work fine, i didn't have to cut the valance at all but they do stick out a little bit, not flush with the bumper.
