Pics of running boards and no running boards

I finally got the pictures of my 4Runner with and without running boards. I took them off about a week ago. Let me know what you think? Should I keep them off or put them back?

I might put them back on in the winter to protect the body from all the slushy snow mess around here.

With RB

Without RB

Thanks in advance for your 2cents.

GO NAKED!

I just yanked mine off this weekend and they shall never go back on. It's rock sliderz for me come this fall! I get my front fender flare extension mudflaps tomorrow and I am stoked. They were only $20/each.

PS. How do you get a picture to post? Do you need a website or can you cut and paste?

You can attach a pic everytime you post. See attach file below. Or just get a website and post the image location between [img] tags. See the FAQ for more help...

On your 4Runner, it looks SOOOOO much better with the RB off.

I prefer them off also. I can think of another member *cough* BBB *cough* with a strong opinion about this also...

I like it. Where did you get the mud flaps for the front flares? I want to do the same thing, but I don't wanna pay $100 for mud flaps from my stealership.

Brian - I also got the fender flare extensions from the dealer for about $20 each and they were easy to install. The color is called anthracite. I guess calling it brown wouldn't market very well.

Skywagon - awesome rig. Were your running boards lighted?

As for the pictures, you have to host them somewhere to get them in your message itself. Many people here seem to use monty pics (??)

No, they are not lighted... the limited models get those (the lighted ones are also silver, mine are black).

Hmm...fender flare extensions, I have to look into that. Because my front flares stop a good 4 inches above the bottom of my body. Is that what yours did as well?

Rob-

Are you talking about the gap at the bottom of this flare?

Just took mine off and as I like the look better than with them on, I'm now seriously concidering the protection they offer from rocks, road ˟˟˟˟ and other paint chipping stuff.

Yeah, what he said!
I am thinking of taking the boards off too, and am concerned about the lack of protection on my LTD flare combo.
