Pics of New Mods

Alright guys, I posted some new pics tonight. Ya'll check them out and let me know what you think. I tried to take some of my new footwell lights, but they didn't turn out very well. I'll take some more later. Anyway, the new mods include the maglight mod, 7500k HIDs, Piaa 1000Xs, Raybrig White Sonic H3s in the stock fog lamps, TRD Emblems, and the Thule Lappland basket. I also had the front grill, lower valence, and rear license surround painted millenium silver metallic. Check them out at the link below. Later.

Hey Matt,

I like the mods too, especially the Thule basket. I went to their website but couldn't find where they were hiding it. Could you share some info on it and the mounts. Thanks.

how did you mount those piaa's in that location? drill into the bumper? how do they perform for foglights? output? if that's what you're using them for...

and why does everyone seem to live in a nicer neighborhood tham me...hehe

You can get the Mag-Lite mount clips from Home Depot, and probably Lowe's as well.

I got the basket from http://www.roofrackwarehouse.co.uk/
He gave me a great rate on the shipping and it got here in only three business days. The basket is only available in Europe, so you won't find it on the Thule USA site. Go to http://www.thule.com/ and click on the United Kingdom link. As far as the mounting goes, I ordered those brackets from Surco. I think the model number is CH100. They slide into the stock tracks on the roof. I think they were about $40. I used some 1/4" stainless steel flatbar that a contractor got me at work and had one of our mechanics drill the holes in it for me. Turned out great!! The Piaas are mounted to the top of the lower valence panel. I measured several, several times before making the cut and they turned out great to. I just used a hacksaw blade and it cut through it pretty easy and left a smooth cut. The light output from them is great and I mainly use them when I'm on the back roads between Birmingham and my hometown. Theres a hell of a lot of deer and the Piaas along with the HIDs light up the road like daytime. I ordered the Dakota Digital gauges directly from them at http://www.dakotadigital.com/ They were quite expensive, but work great and look great. If I supercharge one day, Dakotas boost gauge would be a pretty awesome compliment. That'll be a while though. Let me know if you've got any more questions guys. Later.

Matt

Matt, could you post some close up pics of those lights, or some measurements on them?? I really wanted to drop some more lights up front, but I was hesitant to drill

Hi Matt,

I hate you. That front end is sweet!! Those PIAAs are perfect. Are they held in there pretty securely, or do you just have them screwed into the plastic?

Where'd you get your HIDs? How much were they?

Thanks,
Ryd

Hey:

The placement of the driving lights looks familiar

Here's a couple pics of my front w/HIDs and Hella driving lamps:

Did you wire your driving lights to high beams?? I use my HIDs for lows and Hellas for high beams.

The basket will hold about 220 pounds and it cost a little over $400. As far as the Piaas go, they are held on by some strong double sided tape and screwed into the plastic valence. They're on there good. They ain't going no where. I got the HIDs from Phil Roemer, a guy on the outdoor wire forum. He bought them as part of a group buy from Jaos and never installed them. He sold the kit to me for $350, but if you buy it online (racinglab.com) it will cost about $550-$600. I will take some closeup pics tonight of the Piaas and put them on Webshots. Thanks for the responses guys. Later.
