The deckplate mod is nice because it's THE EASIEST way to reverse the mod. It's simple and clean... the way I like it.

We had a thread a few months ago regarding the deckplate vs. popping off the door and using a c-clamp to keep the filter tight againt the box. Most were for the deckplate but I thought popping the door off the box was just as effective. For those that lease their vehicles it is a good option. I, myself own ,so no difference. As far as reversible, putting the door back on and taking the c-clamp off takes about 20 seconds. The door mod is a no brainer for those that want to feel the difference in power and sound without cutting their air box. Very reversible to stock--no one would ever know. I do like the airbox mod and I still am considering it but, I do have the same benifets taking the door off. Check it out ,pop the door off, its about the same opening just a different shape. late

The problem with just taking the door off is that your taking air from the hottest part of the engine bay... the top!

Cool pics man!
Sorry it took so long for me to post up, forgot this was you.

Yea, someone else mentioned the hot air thing on the last thread but with the deckplate and the lid within an inch or two there is not much difference.

I just installed the Airaid MIT about an hour ago and went for a ride. I was skeptical at first but not anymore. Throttle reponse is much better. My engine used to take a long time to wind up, even with a 5-speed. Not any more. It was loud with the airbox door open but it wails now. Thanks for the link Poopshute, I ordered Monday evening and it arrived this Friday morning with free shipping. I figured on a week or two with ground service, but Sacramento is not that far away. its going to be hard to stay off the throttle now.

OH MAN... you're telling me... the first tank of gas I put in went through the truck like crazy.... Anyone in this forum that says they have had a decrease in MPG after the ISR mod or the MIT mod is just because of the heavy foot that comes with the mod. Hey... even though it's still kinda up in the air... make sure you reset your EFI fuse and then drive it around like a mad man. It's supposed to help the EFI computer relearn the new air flow. Have fun and it'll be interesting if we pull up to a light together some time.... 3....2.....1.....
