Suggestions on what to buy**Newbie Alert*

Greetings from Nashville
I've been looking into buying a used Truck or SUV to work from. I've pretty much narrowed it down to either a 1997 T100 SR5 with 148K on the clock or a 1997 4Runner (Sr5 also I believe) with 175K on it.
Each owner is asking the same money (Approx 8K)
I've always have good luck W/ Toyotas, but I don't know that much about their trucks (I like going fast really low to the ground right now )

What should I be looking out for in the way of problems that might crop up with trucks such as the two I'm looking into?
From what I've been able to tell, in my area 8K is about avg for these offerings.

Any suggestions will be appreciated
(Also I've got a T O N of gmail accounts to give out if anyone is interested shoot me a PM)

Thanks

well, theyre both good trucks. searching around here, you can see that the 97 might have a headgasket issue, but you can have a dealer run the vin to tell you if thats been addressed. chances are it has, and you're fine.

its all about what you need it for.. will the pick up bed serve you better? if i had a choice there, id go with the runner. not only because i like the looks and think its reliable, fun and safe (not that the t100 isnt), but youve taken a valuable first step in finding Yotatech, which is a virtual booklet of info on any problems that may come up and a guide for any modifications you need.

so yea, its up to personal preference... hopefully both trucks were well cared for.

Good, more people from BNA. Go with the 97 4runner. I'm biased though. But personally, I like the option of carrying large things in my truck without having to worry about them getting wet, stolen, etc. Plus it's not uncommon that it serves as a short haul mass human transport when barhoping in rainy conditions.
Get whichever has a locker on it.
