Performance Radiator Question?

I have a 1998 t4r 3.4 4wd.

It runs hot in certain situations.
Long hills, towing a small trailer and offroad.
Whenever I put the heat on she cools right down.

I want to put a high performance radiator in it, does anyone have recommendations of one that will fit, I see cheap 2 and 3 core options on ebay- but I don't know whats good for my vehicle.

Now before we get into the weeds here, I know my engine should not run hot- and it would be better to fix the underlying cause.
I'm ready to give up on that- it's been doing this for 5 years and I've had countless mechanics look at it to no avail as well as replacing everything in the system and trying to track different parts of the engine with a temp gun.

At this point its cheaper to just get a stronger radiator, whenever I put the heat on she cools right down- so I think I just need a bit more cooling capacity.

Any advice on radiator option other than my Koyo would be helpful.

Not sure what your problem might be.Do you have a Automatic??

I run the same Radiator in both my Tacoma and 4Runner both 3.4 5 speeds

Copper /Brass 3 row that I bought from the long gone Radiator Barn

It is not uncommon to have a 1000 pounds in the bed Towing another 2500 or so with no cooling problems

If I am Hot the AC is also on

Then it is not in the Hot temperatures of the Southwest USA!!

Wyoming- thanks for the quick reply. You actually tried to help me track this down a few years back.

Do you think this would be a good option:

I just found this one today. Is there a cooling metric I should keep in mind like the way BTUs describe air conditioning?

With cooling systems it is system capacity

The size of the radiator core you can have a huge core but if it is not getting proper air flow either blocked in front or bad fan clutch .

Then the correct thermostat and working correctly

I recall reading about a High output fan as part of a Factory or Dealer added Tow package .

Weather a bigger Radiator will fix your issue is at best a guess
